umami.org.au has been established to educate people in Australia about umami. We are associated with the Umami Information Center. In October 2007 we organised our first educational event, a seminar Umami: Exotic Taste or World Taste? This seminar was an associated event of Tasting Australia, Adelaide’s biennial celebration of food. Umami: Exotic Taste or World Taste? was sponsored by the Umami Information Center. Mihoka Townsley	David Panasiak
Mihoka has had a long involvement with umami and glutamate. She was instrumental in establishing the Australian Glutamate Information Service and umami.org.au. Mihoka organised the seminar Umami: Exotic Taste or World Taste?	David works as a consultant in food regulation matters with his own company Food Liaison Pty Ltd. David has had a long association with the Australian Glutamate Information Service, and he has been associated with umami.org.au from its inception. David hosted Umami: Exotic Taste or World Taste? He also assisted Mihoka with the organisation of the seminar. David produced the DVD of the event and the extracts of the DVD which appear on this website.
